What a mess we always make...

Grandtots,

Every generation of man has a claim to fame. Some mark, some act, some endeavour that leaves the world a little worse for the next generation. Something that has our children and our children's children shaking their heads in wonder and asking what the hell were those old people thinking. Slavery. Colonialism. World War. Vietnam. Iraq.

I think this is the image that may be remembered from my time. This is what my generation left for your world. Oil that should be under the earth's crust, jetting into the earth's ocean. So much of it that it is visible from orbit. And, on behalf of this woeful generation, I am deeply sorry.

Humans do good things. They just aren't as big as the bad ones. The good things that humans do generally can't be seen from space.
